During the first week of June 2015, Navios Tankers Management Inc. and Navios Shipmanagement Inc. conducted their first combined Officers’ Forum in Manila, Philippines.
Navios Officers Forums are organized by Navios Group of Companies twice a year and aim at keeping Navios Deck & Engine officers always up to date with the latest developments of the company’s policies for the smoothest and most efficient operation of the Group’s fleet.
The first day opened with a warm welcome by Navios executives, who encouraged the participant officers to engage actively in the discussions. The forum focused on the familiarization of the Safety, Health and Environmental aspects of shipboard performance. During the two-day corporate event, Navios executives, officers and technical experts presented topics of interest which were followed by interactive sessions. Epsilon was proudly represented in the Forum by Mr. Paculdar, President of KJCM, Capt. Konstantinos Nanos, Operations Manager of Epsilon, and Ms Helen Galang.
During their stay in Manila, Navios executives visited the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific escorted by Mr. Paculdar and Epsilon Manila representatives. After visiting the premises, Navios representatives met with cadets and interviewed them for the selection of the most qualified and motivated students for the Company’s Sponsorship program, which aims to create a pool of highly trained officers for the Navios Fleet.
