Athens, Greece, July 2nd, 2019 – Our Athens ME-C Training Launch Event took place at Athens Marriott Hotel, to celebrate the inauguration of our new electronic engine training program.
A great number of distinguished guests, representing the most prominent shipping companies and industry organizations, joined us in the presentation of our new custom ME-C Engine Room System and training program. The opening speeches were delivered by Mr. G. Galanakis, President of Epsilon Group, and Mrs. J.E. Bakouni, Training Supervisor of Epsilon. Dr. Kapetanakis, Editor-in-Chief of Naftika Chronika and C/Eng. A. Katsoulis, Senior Chief Engineer of National Geographic, offered their views on the historical and technological impact of the new electronic engines.
C/Eng. M. DeGuzman and C/Eng. I. Manea, Lead ME Instructors of Veritas Maritime Training Center in Manila and Constanta respectively, presented the new training facility, the configuration of the equipment, the courses offered and quality characteristics of the training program. The new training program is in many ways innovative, as the training is provided with the use of real equipment, identical to what can be found onboard a vessel fitted with an ME-C engine. In the words of C/Eng. DeGuzman: “It is the electronic engine training we have always dreamed of… now it is no longer a dream, nor a reverie; it is now a reality!”.
The wonderful evening ended with a cocktail and buffet reception, where our guests had the chance to meet our instructors and discuss about the new training.
We wish to thank everyone for joining us and for making our ME-C Athens Launch Event remarkable!
